Understanding the Command Prompt

At first look, the command prompt window seems like any MS-DOS prompt you've ever used and, indeed, it does work similarly. The commands you use in the Windows NT command prompt window are similar to those you use in MS-DOS. In fact, you can use almost all of the MS-DOS commands you used in MS-DOS version 6.x except for some of the newer utilities such as memmaker and defrag. In addition, Windows NT has included some new commands and some special Windows NT commands.

Use the Windows NT command prompt window to perform the following tasks:
