Chapter 12. Using Windows NT Accessory A... > Selecting and Editing Document Text

Selecting and Editing Document Text

Although small edits in your document are accomplished by moving your insertion point and deleting characters or adding text, editing blocks of text requires that you select the text first. Selected text appears in reverse video on-screen. To select text in your document, do the following:

  1. Position your mouse I-beam at either the beginning or end of the block of text you want to select.

  2. Click and hold down the left mouse button while you move past the text you want to include in your selection. Text included in the selection appears in reverse type (highlighted). This is known as a click-and-drag selection.

  3. When you have finished selecting text, release the mouse button. The selection remains in reverse type.
