Typing Text

You enter text in WordPad as you would in other word processing programs. The blinking cursor in the upper-left corner of the work area is called the insertion point, and it indicates your current position in the document.

As you type text in your document, be sure to only press Enter at the end of a paragraph, not at the end of a line. WordPad, like all word processors, automatically wraps the text to the next line (a feature known as word wrap) when there is no room left on the current line. This allows WordPad to correctly reformat your document if you later change items such as font size or margins.
