Chapter 22. Using Peer Web Services > Publishing Information with Peer Web Serv...

Publishing Information with Peer Web Services

Windows NT's Peer Web Services can publish both information and applications. This allows you to publish anything from static Web pages on your Web site to interactive applications. You can also use the Peer Web Services to find and extract information from databases, as well as insert information into databases.

Understanding Web Publishing

The most popular of the Peer Web Services is the Web Server. This publishes Web pages. Most Web pages are simple ASCII text files with codes embedded to indicate formatting and hypertext links. These are formatted in HyperText Markup Language (HTML). HTML specifications are changing constantly and you should have the latest HTML specifications (which are available on the Internet).
