Chapter 25. Using HyperTerminal  > Changing and Saving HyperTerminal Settings

Changing and Saving HyperTerminal Settings

HyperTerminal enables you to connect to other computers via a modem. Before you can connect to another modem, however, you must create what is called a connection in HyperTerminal. A connection describes the party to which you will connect. Name the connection and then choose details such as phone number, modem speed, line parity, and so on. After you create a connection by entering the details required, you can save it for future use.

You may be wondering at this point how to know what settings you should choose. To find out the correct settings for a remote computer, you should consult the documentation provided by the organization that runs the remote system, or contact the administrator of the system.
