Exploring Help's New Look

Even older Help files get a new look under Windows NT 4.0. While only Help files designed for Windows NT 4.0 have a Contents tab (refer to Figure 1.15), all Help files have Index and Find tabs. In this section, you learn how you can use all three of these tabs to find what you need in Help. You also see some of the new styles, like procedural topics and troubleshooters, for presenting information in Help files.

Contents Tab

The Contents tab in Figure 1.15 uses a book and document metaphor to present a hierarchical view of the Help system. In many cases, several Help files (documents) are combined into one system (book). A special contents file, using a CNT extension, defines what individual Help files will be combined into the Help system.
