Working with Accounts

The user accounts describe pertinent information about each person who works on Windows NT Workstation, including his or her name, password, and permission rights. Windows NT provides some built-in accounts, but you can also add accounts and modify any user account with the User Manager.

In addition to specifying a user's full name—first, last, and initial, if you want—you specify a user name for each user. A user name is an alias or nickname that represents the user on the network and within the workstation. You can accept the default user names assigned by Windows NT, or you can assign your own.
