Fine-Tuning Your System

Once you've gathered reports, looked at the displays in the Performance Monitor, and analyzed what you've seen, there are a few things you can do to tune your system a bit.

Allocating Processor Time

You can change how Windows NT allocates time on the processor to applications in a multitasking environment. The priorities you set should reflect your own patterns of work; there aren't any absolute rights or wrongs here. You will find details on configuring multiprocessing in Chapter 6, "Managing Memory, Multitasking, and System Options."
