Running the Installation

By this time, you've l learned the information you need to collect about your computer before installing Windows NT; you've learned how to set up file systems on your computer; and you've learned issues about running other operating systems with Windows NT. Now, it's time to look at the installation. Regarding that process, there still are a few more introductory topics to cover. Immediately afterwards, we'll walk through a Windows NT Workstation installation:

  • Use of the WINNT/WINNT32 utilities.

  • Whether you want to create a set of installation boot disks.

  • Whether you are installing over a network.

  • If you are installing Windows NT on a RISC-based system.
