Part VI: Going Online with Windows NT Wo... > Using Internet Explorer, Mail, and N...

Chapter 21. Using Internet Explorer, Mail, and News

by Paul Sanna

During the time between the release of the current Windows NT 4.0 and its predecessor, 3.51, interest in the Internet has exploded. Taking advantage of that interest, Windows NT Workstation 4.0 connects easily to the Internet, thanks to built-in TCP/IP and connectivity software. In addition, Microsoft has made available—for free—perhaps the most helpful application for using the Internet: a Web browser. Windows NT includes Internet Explorer 3.0, and you can download Internet Mail 1.0 and Internet News 1.0 in minutes. This chapter introduces you to each of these products.
