Part VIII: Appendixes > Keeping Track of the Date and Time

Keeping Track of the Date and Time

Windows NT is smart enough to help you keep track of the correct date and time. In fact, having the correct date and time available is essential for the operation of some programs. Generally, you can set the date and time once and then forget it. However, if you travel with a notebook computer, you may need to reset the system time more often as you travel.

When it comes time to set your computer's clock, open the Start menu, and choose Settings, Control Panel. Then double-click the Date/Time icon to open the Date/Time Properties dialog box shown in Figure E.10. You may also simply double-click the time in the TaskBar to open the Date/Time Properties dialog box.
