Adding Internet Mail

If you have an e-mail account with an Internet Service Provider (ISP), you'll want to install Internet Mail in your profile. The Internet Mail service can also be used with internal postoffices that use the POP3 (Postoffice Protocol version 3) standard.

Required Settings

The Internet Mail service has more mandatory settings than Microsoft Mail, beginning with those on the General tab shown in Figure 23.16. All these fields must be filled in before you can use Internet Mail. Table 23.5 lists each setting, along with what you need to enter. You should be able to get all this information from your ISP or, if you're connecting to a server inside your organization, from your mail administrator.
