Part VIII: Appendixes > Installing Windows NT Workstation

Appendix A. Installing Windows NT Workstation

by Paul Sanna

Installing a new operating system is one of the more challenging tasks for any computer user, and Windows NT is no exception. Windows NT's support of multiple file systems and other operating systems forces you to consider a number of complicated questions before and during installation. For example, what file system do you install? Do you install the same file system on every partition? Can you set up your system to dual-boot with Windows 95? How do you install Windows NT over the network? Preparing you is the goal of this appendix. You find practical guidance on how to answer the prompts that appear as you install Windows NT. It's important that you answer the prompts correctly, because if you change your mind later, you may need to completely reinstall Windows NT.
