Moving Between Applications

Windows enables you to have multiple applications open at the same time. If the open application windows are not maximized, you might be able to see all of those open windows overlapped on-screen. In this case, you can click any window to bring it forward. Often, however, it's easier to work in a single application by maximizing the application's window. Switching between applications then requires a different procedure. You'll most likely use the taskbar to switch from application to application by clicking the minimized application button on the taskbar.

After opening several applications—such as WordPad, Paint, and Solitaire, for example—you can use the taskbar by following these steps:
