Opening a DOS Window

You can open and close a DOS window to perform various tasks. You can even open more than one DOS window at a time, if necessary. When you're finished with a DOS window, you should close it to spare your system's resources and memory.

Running in DOS? If you have several open DOS windows, each with its own application running, your computer may slow down because of the drain on your system's resources. Running DOS applications in Windows 95 is sometimes possible but not always practical, depending on the application.
