Replying to a Message

You can reply to any message you receive, and Internet Mail automatically places a copy of the original message in your reply, separated from your text by a short, dashed line and identified with the > symbol preceding each line of the original message, including headers. When you reply to a message, the application also addresses the message to the original author and uses the subject of the original message as the subject of the reply, but with an RE: preceding the original subject.

To reply to an open message, follow these steps:
