Lesson 20. Using Internet Explorer > Exiting the Program

Exiting the Program

When you're done surfing the Web and you're ready to close Internet Explorer, you can remain connected or you can disconnect from the Internet. If you remain connected, you can access Internet Mail or Internet News, as explained in the next two lessons. If you're finished with the Internet, you must use the Dial-Up Networking folder to disconnect.

1.
To exit Internet Explorer, choose File, Exit. If the Disconnect dialog box appears, confirming you want to disconnect from the Internet, choose Yes to disconnect or No to continue the session with Internet Mail or Internet News.

2.
If the Disconnect dialog box doesn't appear, open the Computer window and double-click the Dial-Up Networking icon. The Dial-Up Networking dialog box appears. Select your current connection and choose File, Disconnect. Close the open windows.
