Lesson 11. Selecting, Moving, and Copyin... > Selecting Multiple Files or Folders

Selecting Multiple Files or Folders

To speed up operations, you can select multiple files or folders and then perform an action—such as copying, moving, deleting, or printing—on the entire group. For example, you may want to select several files to copy to a disk. Copying them all at once is much faster than copying each file individually. You select multiple files and folders in one of two ways, depending on whether they are contiguous or noncontiguous in the Explorer window.

Contiguous When the files that you want to select are listed next to each other in the Explorer without any files that you don't want in between them, they are contiguous.
