Appendix A.  Configuring for the Internet

Appendix A. Configuring for the Internet

You must have an Internet connection before you can use Internet Explorer, Internet Mail, or Internet News. Windows makes it easy for you to configure your Internet connection. But first you'll need to get an Internet Service Provider (ISP) that is located in your area. An ISP provides you with all of the information—IP address, subnet mask, host name, and so on—you need to configure Windows 95 for the Internet.

After you set up your computer for using Internet Explorer, you can explore Web pages, send and receive e-mail, and access news groups on the Internet. Windows makes it easy to set up for using the Internet by providing a Wizard that guides you through the steps.
