Lesson 5. Using Windows NT Help > Getting Help in Windows NT

Getting Help in Windows NT

Windows NT offers several ways to get online help—instant on-screen help for menu commands, procedures, features, and other items. Online help is information that appears in its own window whenever you request it. Windows NT's Help feature offers three help features: an index feature, a find feature, and a contents feature.

The Contents feature displays a list of topics (such as Introducing Windows NT, How To, and Troubleshooting) as well as a Glossary and tips and tricks for using NT. The Index feature enables you to access specific categories of topics—such as adapters, disk configuration, naming disks, and so on. Find lets you search for specific words and phrases—such as About, Checking, Mem, Printing, and so on.
