Understanding the Event Viewer

Use the Event Viewer is a program that monitors your system and records failures and problems in event logs. If, for example, a driver failed to load during startup or an application had a file error, the Event Viewer would record this event so you could study the problem.

Table 23.1 lists the common terms you'll see in the Event Viewer window.
