Lesson 25. Using the Command Prompt > Running Applications in the Command Promp...

Running Applications in the Command Prompt Window

You can install applications from the Command Prompt window, and you can run MS-DOS and Windows applications in the Command Prompt window. To run a program from the command prompt, follow these steps:

  1. From the Desktop, open the Start menu; choose Programs, and then choose the Command Prompt. The Command Prompt window appears.

  2. If necessary, use the cd command to change to the directory holding the program you want to start. For example, to change to the WordPerfect directory, you'd type cd\wp60 and press Enter.

  3. At the prompt, enter the program name that starts the program (for example, you'd type wp to start WordPerfect).
