Lesson 3. Using Menus > What Is a Menu?

What Is a Menu?

A menu is a list of related commands that you use to perform tasks in Windows NT and in Windows applications (tasks such as copying or deleting selected items in a window). Menu commands are organized in logical groups. For example, all the commands related to arranging and opening windows are located on the Windows menu. The names of the available menus appear below the Title bar of any window or application that uses menus.

Warning

Lost? Any time you're not sure what to do next or how to perform a specific task, click each menu in the application and read each command. Generally, you can find what you want in this way; if not, you can always choose the Help menu (described in Lesson 5).
