Changing the Color Scheme

You can change the color scheme that Windows NT uses for your desktop, windows, menus, title bars, and so on, to a preset color scheme. To change the Windows NT color scheme, follow these steps:

  1. In the Control Panel, open the Display icon by double-clicking it.

  2. Choose the Appearance tab. Figure 26.2 shows the Display Properties dialog box with the Appearance tab displayed.

Figure 26.2. Use the tabs in the Display Properties dialog box to control the features pertaining to the desktop.

  3. From the Scheme drop-down list, select a color scheme. The sample at the top of the dialog box shows what the new colors in the windows and desktop will look like.

  4. Check out as many different color schemes as you want. When you're satisfied with the selected color scheme, click OK. If you plan to make other changes to the Display Properties dialog box (in other tabs), choose the Apply button to accept the changes made to the Appearance tab and continue.
