Repackaging an Application

Applications without .msi files can also be repackaged, but that has certain limitations. When a vendor does not supply an .msi file, you can use a third-party utility to repackage the application as an .msi file. Microsoft includes one such tool with Windows 2000, WinINSTALL LE (Light Edition) from Veritas Software. WinINSTALL LE can be used to create new .msi files and also to change some of the information in existing .msi files.
