Registry Security

The regedt32.exe editor is the only one of the two Registry editors that allows direct manipulation of security settings to specific subtrees, keys, subkeys, and subsequent values. However, these security settings are honored by regedit.exe. These security settings are much like the security that may be imposed on an NTFS resource. By selecting the Security|Permissions tool in the menu bar, you may grant or deny access to a tree or value by user, group, or computer.
