Configuring Devices and System Settings

The Windows 2000 Setup program gets the operating system installed and configures as many of the devices on the computer that it can. However, once you finish installing Windows 2000, you have some more work to do. To make the best use of your computer's hardware, you may have to do some additional configuration of your computer. These configuration tasks fall into two main kinds of changes—system configuration settings and device drivers.

There are three types of configuration changes in Windows 2000:
