A Day in the Life of a Windows 2000 Administrator

Being the administrator in a large oganization can be a stressful job. It can be especially stressful if you go about it the wrong way. With careful planning and design, however, you can develop a set of tools and an infrastructure for network management that can make administering Windows 2000 more fun and less stressful.

A typical administrator spends his day running from one crisis to another, trying to keep clients and servers running. He patches and fixes and troubleshoots. There is no time to take a long view of the organization's needs and the long-term strategies that will most benefit the business.
