Best Practices

  • Choose hardware RAID over software RAID when the budget allows it.

  • Avoid spanned volumes if possible. Multiple drives mean more chance of failure, and a failure of one will mean the loss of data on all. Use Mounted volumes.

  • Mounted drives give the appearance of a single folder tree, but the space in each folder will be restricted.
