Dynamic DNS

Dynamic DNS (DDNS) automates the process of A and PTR record creation and deletion and works in tandem with DHCP. Updates are always made on the primary name server in a standard zone. In a zone that has been integrated with AD, any Domain Controller running the DNS service can process a record update.

On a Windows 2000 DNS client, the dynamic update process follows this sequence:
