Configuring Connection Sharing

ICS is configured through Network and Dial-Up Connections in the Control Panel. It is configured by turning on a single checkbox, either while creating a new dial-up connection, or on the Sharing tab in the Properties page of an existing connection. If the connection is a modem or ISDN card, you should also check the Dial-on-demand checkbox in the Sharing tab. Enabling ICS will make all the changes reflected in Table 8.7.3

Routing TableA static route for 0.0.0.0 pointing to the external interface is added to the routing table.
Internal ClientsInternal clients are given an address between 192.168.0.2—192.168.0.254, with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and 192.168.0.1 as a DNS proxy server.
