Overview

Windows 2000 Setup attempts to detect the hardware devices that are present on your computer, and installs device drivers for any devices that are found. It also configures basic system settings to default values. As your computer's hardware configuration changes or the operating requirements change, you can install new device drivers and modify these default configuration settings as needed.

Installing a device driver in Windows 2000 makes the following changes to your computer:
