Modifying the Active Directory Schema

The schema is the set of class and attribute definitions that exist in the Active Directory. All Domains in the enterprise share the schema. You should make schema modifications only when absolutely necessary.

In most implementations of Windows 2000, it is very likely that manual schema extensions will never be required. Consequently, three deliberate safety features protect the schema.
