Accessing Shared Folders and Printers on Your Network

Once a user has shared a folder or printer on the network, all network users can use these resources. You can access folders and printers through the My Network Places folder. To open My Network Places, click Start and then click My Network Places. If it doesn’t appear on the Start menu, open My Computer. You’ll find a link to My Network Places under Other Places in the task pane at the left side.

By default, My Network Places shows all the shared folders and printers on your network, as in the example shown below. (If shared folders do not appear, open the Tools menu and choose Folder Options. Click the View tab and then select the first check box in Advanced Settings, Automatically Search For Network Folders And Printers.)
