Changing an Existing Account

With the User Accounts option in Control Panel, you can change any of several user account settings. If you’re logged on as a limited user, you can make changes only to your own account. If you’re logged on as a computer administrator, you can make changes to all other accounts as well as your own.

To make changes to a user account, open User Accounts in Control Panel. If you’re logged on as a computer administrator, at the bottom of the window, click the name of the account you want to change. (If you’re logged on as a limited user, opening User Accounts takes you directly to the change window for your own account, as shown here.)
