Make the Taskbar Easier to Work With

If you’ve used any of the last several incarnations of Windows, you’re familiar with the taskbar. In Windows XP, the taskbar performs the same functions as always: it offers a way to start programs, to switch quickly between running programs, and to see messages and other alerts from the operating system and from programs. The taskbar, shown in Figure 9-2, consists of three different areas.
