Chapter 7. E-Mail Made Easy > Composing a New Message

Composing a New Message

Composing a new message in Outlook Express is simple, especially if you just want to send a few sentences to a friend or family member. If you’re willing to spend a little more time, you can add pictures and other formatting so that your message looks like a Web page. To get started, click Create Mail on the Outlook Express toolbar, or press Ctrl+N, or choose File, New, Mail Message. This opens a blank e-mail window, ready for you to begin adding details to the message.

Tip

If you’re replying to a message, you can start a new message with addresses and subject already entered. Select the message from the message list or from an open message window. Click Reply (to send your new message to the sender only), Reply All (to send the message to everyone who received the original message), or Forward (to send a copy of the message to someone who didn’t receive the original).
