Address Book

The Mac OS X Address Book is more than a simple contact manager. It is a system-wide database that stores all your contact information and is accessible from other applications that use contact information, such as the email application Mail. Address Book data is also available in the Safari web browser, the search utility Sherlock, the scheduling program iCal, your system's Fax function, and the instant messaging program iChat!

Address Book is also available as a part of Dashboard. See Chapter 2, “Using the Finder,” for more about Dashboard.
