Chapter 30. Creating DVDs in iDVD > Creating OneStep DVDs

Creating OneStep DVDs

So far, this chapter has focused on carefully crafting a DVD project by adding content and customizing menus before burning it to DVD. However, sometimes you need a simple, straight-forward DVD to share video quickly. iDVD's OneStep DVD feature meets this need by enabling you to burn DVDs directly from your digital video camera. (However, you cannot edit your video in any way or add menus.)

To create a OneStep DVD, connect your digital video camera, turn it on, and set it to VCR mode. Insert a blank DVD in your drive. Then, launch iDVD and choose OneStep DVD from the welcome window that appears, or choose File, OneStep DVD from the menu if another project is already open. iDVD automatically rewinds the tape in your camera and imports the video it contains.
