Q&A

Q1: Can I play any region DVD in the DVD Player application?
A1: For copyright purposes, DVDs are encoded with region codes that restrict which players can display them. When you first insert a DVD, or when you insert a disc for another region, you’re prompted to choose a region for your player. Apple gives you the option of resetting the region code on your DVD drive a limited number of times. After the limit is exceeded, you’re stuck with the last region you used, and reinstalling the operating system won’t change that.
Q2: Can I use an external DVD burner with iDVD?
A2: The answer, unfortunately, is no. You must have a Macintosh computer equipped with a SuperDrive to use iDVD.
