Chapter 9. Working with Files and Folder... > Burn That CD: Copying Files and Fold...

Burn That CD: Copying Files and Folders to a CD-R

One of the new features incorporated into Windows XP is the capability of burning CDs without having to buy additional software. When you buy a CD burner and install it into your Windows XP machine you usually get a stripped-down copy of some other commercial CD burning product. This usually provides only the basic burning capabilities.

Windows XP now supports a lot of different features for burning CDs, including using them to store data files, as well as using your CD burner to create audio CDs. For more information about using the CD burning features of Windows XP to create audio CDs, see Chapter 29, “Windows Media Player 8.” Here, we will learn about the process of creating a data CD.
