Working with Skins

The historical source for this particular application of the word skin is unknown, but what it means is far less gross than it sounds. In Media Player parlance, a skin is a graphical replacement for the Skin Mode part of the applications interface. Skins can make Media Player look like a face, a thin bar, a rubber ducky (see Figure 29.9), or a number of other things, depending on what the skin artist (no, not a tattooist) intends.
