How to Halt the Computer When the Security Log Becomes Full

If you are serious about tracking security, then you won't want security logs overwritten. To avoid that situation, Windows XP gives you the option of halting the computer when the security log becomes full.

Tip

Because broadband, fast connections are becoming more available today, and because they basically leave your computer connected to the Internet day in and day out (unless you turn off the computer), you are an easy target for a hacker on the Internet. Be sure to read Chapter 25, “Configuring Your Computer for an Internet Connection.” You will need to learn to use the built-in Internet Firewall that is provided with Windows XP. Although this simple firewall may not be a complete solution to the hacker problem, it does a very good job of keeping out a lot of potential problems.
