Q&A

Q1:What is the difference between a digital picture and an analog image?
A1: A digital picture is comprised of dots that are small enough and close enough to work together to form a picture. An analog picture is one that uses film to store pictures in gradients. Computers can manipulate and store digital images much more efficiently than analog images. As a matter of fact, to store an analog image such as a picture you have, you must first scan that picture into a digital image before you can store the picture on your PC.
Q2:Should I have a scanner or a digital camera?
A2: The best answer is to get both. A digital camera enables you to take pictures when you're away from your computer. A scanner does a better job at taking pictures (scanning) documents and flat items such as magazine articles and book covers. Windows XP works equally well with both.
