Hour 2. Getting Started with Windows XP > Manually Changing Window Sizes

Manually Changing Window Sizes

When you point to any window's edge or corner, the mouse pointer changes from its default shape (the pointing arrow) to a bidirectional arrow. The bidirectional arrow indicates that you are at one of the edges of the window and that you can drag the edge or corner inward or outward to change the size of the window.

When you drag one of the four straight edges, the window grows or shrinks left, right, up, or down. When you drag one of the four window corners, the window grows or shrinks in both height and width in the direction of the cursor's bidirectional diagonal shape.
