Lesson 12. Printing > Using Drag and Drop

Using Drag and Drop

When you are able to see icons for both the printer and the document on your screen, take advantage of a quicker way to print documents. Drag the document file icon over the printer icon and release the mouse button. The document falls into the print queue and is printed. This is called drag-and-drop printing. You may want to make a printer shortcut on your desktop to facilitate this. For information on how to create a shortcut, go back to Lesson 9, "Managing Files with My Computer."

In this lesson, you learned to print from an application, control the print job, and connect to a network printer. In the next lesson, you'll learn about network basics, how to use and navigate My Network Places, and how to find a computer or file on the Network.
