Exiting a Windows Application

Before you exit an application, you should save your open documents. Then, to exit the application, do one of the following:

  • Use the File menu Open the program's File menu and select Exit. If you have any open documents that haven't been saved yet, you'll be asked if you'd like to save them.

  • Use the program's Close button You can also click the program's Close button (×) to exit a program.

  • Use the keyboard shortcut If you prefer to use the keyboard, you can press Alt+F4 to close the program's window and thus exit the program.
