Lesson 16. Using Windows 98 Applications > Copying and Moving Information

Copying and Moving Information

When you copy or move data, it's first placed on the Clipboard. The Clipboard is a kind of "holding area" for the data while the copy or move operation is being carried out. The Clipboard is a part of Windows, and not the program, so you can easily use it to copy or move data between applications as well as between documents within an application.

Selecting Text and Graphics

Before beginning a copy or move operation, you must select the item you want to work with. The item you select appears highlighted, so you can easily distinguish it from unselected objects.
