Lesson 28. Using Network Neighborhood > Using a User Name and Password

Using a User Name and Password

To gain access to the network's resources, you must log on. Logging on is a process that identifies you and your computer to the network through the use of a user name and password. After learning your identity, the network determines which resources you have permission to access.

Your network's system administrator gives you your user name and password. Keep them in a safe place, because you won't be able to log on to your computer without them.
