Lesson 2. Navigatingthe Windows 98 Desktop > Using the Windows 98 Toolbars

Using the Windows 98 Toolbars

Windows 98 comes with several toolbars that you can use to access the Internet and your programs more quickly. Some of these toolbars initially appear on the taskbar. You can remove them and place them on the Desktop when needed for more convenient access.

A toolbar is a bar of buttons that represent various commands. When you click the appropriate button, the associated command is carried out. Just like the toolbars you often find in Windows programs, a Windows 98 toolbar might contain text boxes in which you can type a command, or list boxes from which you can make a selection.
